AI is a joke & only works based on the level of the phone.... Can not detect a coordinated turn. Dont even think about useing this in an aircraft

As a B777 pilot, Ive had this app for nearly a year, and cannot get anything but the attitude indicator to work. The gps signal never locks on, so none of the other functions work. (No, its not in the "airplane" mode, and I place my iphone on top of the glare shield where it should be able to receive a good gps signal).

Add HUD over lay on the camera. It would be nice use the camera with a gun sight on HUD.

This is a cool app... but it does not function when the phone is in airplane mode with wifi on like all other gps apps... please update to the 3GS gps, processor and compass too.

Dont waste your money. This thing is interesting for about 5 minutes, then you realize that it never locks in to a GPS signal and youve been had.

I love this app but I use it in landscape mode with the volume buttons up, so any time I want to use it I need to remove it from the windshield mount, start it, manually rotate it, and put it back in the windshield mount…

To the B777 pilot: I too have tried it in airplanes. Works fine in General Aviation aircraft which dont have metallic de-ice (hot windshield) coatings in the windshield (like the B777.) In fact it doesnt work in cars so-equipped either, for the obvious reason that its not able to "see" GPS satellites through the metallic coating. Works fine in my other car, though, and my ancient Cessna. Otherwise its a darn cool, entertaining app. The HUD is awesome.

I love the product. It works. Its easy to use. It is accurate. Night vision is cool. I found a small bug: I saved speed vs time and altitude vs time graph data, which should have been .csv formatted -- it turned out that saved values were separated by a semicolon not a comma. I also have a request: the plotting functions shut down when the autolock activates, and when I re-open the phone V-cockpit is still running but there is a gap in the graph for the time the phone was sleeping. Can you figure out a way to set a time interval for operation and let the plots accumulate in the background while running other apps or when the phone has gone to sleep (autolock)? That would be nice.

This is a very cool app. I added a bit more realism by multitasking real time radio chatter through safari on liveatc.net. As a pilot, this app made it for a great commute this morning.

Great app...but it will not work in an airplane that has electric windshield heat.

Purchased the app primarily for the HUD, or heads up display feature, and is does not disappoint. The color/contrast as well as the character sizes make this the most practical app of its kind for use as a HUD. The app overall is well done and is fantastic for demonstrating the cool built in features of the iPhone. Nice details such as the radio traffic and the engine noise add to the appeal, and can be muted. The options menu offers all the necessary choices but isnt cluttered with too many variables. The interface is intuitive and its nice to just tap the guage of choice and have it go full screen or tap again for a graph. I am very pleased with this cool little program. It was one of my first paid apps and I can say its well worth its price. Only problem Ive had is with the menu buttons as they are small and sometimes I hit the one next to the one I intended. However, I would not suggest they change the button sizes, because the layout is nice and visually appealing just the way it is. Its a fat fingers problem, not a design problem. Well executed and beautiful app right down to the good looking icon put on the iPhone desktop.

Lots of fun. Just needs update for retina display and make calibration save instead of reseting when you turn the app.

My son loves it. Thinks hes a pilot. I also always loved gadgets so its fun.

I am a pilot and was looking forward to this app, but the bottom-line is that it simply does not work and needs to be fixed with a new revision. The few times I actually got the GPS to work, the airspeed, vertical speed, and altimeter would not work during takeoff and climb out. It looks like it would be a good app, and if it actually worked it would be. But I would not waste your time and money on this app until such time that it is actually a working app like it was intended. Unless of course this is one of those apps where the designer could care less if it works and is just out to sell as many as possible. The compass seems to be the only thing on this app that actually works.

This app is worth the price for the HUD alone. I dont think the iPhone 4 sensors are sensitive enough to measure g forces of an automobile, so that was a disappointment. It was what I wanted the app for at first. But once it got dark I started the HUD, clicked "mirror" to reverse the image, and slapped the iPhone on my dash. VERY cool! I DO wish the adjustable colors of the HUD display had a true red, though, to better match my dash colors. Adjustable colors of main display would be nice, too. All in all, get this for the HUD alone

A lot of useful data in a super entertaining format.

Unless the phone is on its useless, with the phone in airplane mode the gps button flashes and never picks up a signal, and yes I tapped yes when it asked to allow access to location data. It has never worked correctly or as advertised on the iphone 4.

Works well, The hud (heads up display) is good, shocked by how it works functionally and utilizes all uses of tge iphone. Entertaining, jet sounds, and warnings and een fake airtraffic feed, brings the bike trail to a whole nother realm.
